Rain, Rain, Go AWAY!

What an unusual June we are having—we’ve had only 2 days thus far with no rain! It’s hard to set out on a ride when you know you will get wet. It’s easier to take when the rain comes after you have committed to the ride and even then it can be unpleasant if you didn’t bring the rain gear—oops! But tonight we did not worry about rain at all as we biked north towards our favorite pub, Brewskies. They haven’t seen us for a few weeks and had to tease about our riding opportunities of late. What made this ride even more enjoyable is the fact that we are boarding the Amtrak train tomorrow for a 4-day trip to Chicago with our good friends from Winona. This thought must have had something to do with our speed. We pedaled 2 miles faster than our last trip on this loop—I think Dennis is finally getting the hang of it! We soon will be saying good-bye to June and will be praying for less rain in July—bike trips planned for the month will proceed, rain or shine—I prefer SHINE!
