Watch Out for Those COWS

Root River Trail--Rushford to Preston: 57.70 miles
Ride Time was 4 hours 15 minutes, average speed: 13.5

We wanted to share this day of biking with friends so phoned COWS members Jim and Shirley Hamm and invited them to join us. We all decided to meet in Rushford and bike the Root River Trail. The trail is always a nice choice when the winds become too wicked to bike the roads. We barely noticed the winds under the protection of the trail. We biked from Rushford past Lanesboro to have lunch at the Old Barn Resort and then continued on towards Preston where we rested before turning back towards Lanesboro for an ice cream treat. As we neared the end of our journey, the sky began to show streaks of black clouds indicating rain storms surrounding us but luck was with us this time and we finished a great day of riding before the rains came pooring down.
