Rally Day #1: 9.10 miles

It’s a special morning to awake to birds singing and the sun beginning to peak through the windows and instead of going to work we will drive south to Ankeny, IA for the PIGS Tandem Rally. We checked into the Best Western in Ankeny around 2:00 p.m. and then watched for other bike teams to arrive. Ernie and Pat Fisher are hosts for the weekend and had ride packets organized and ready to hand out. A mass start for the Friday ice cream ride was set for 6:00 p.m. We had a bit of time to catch up with Faith and Robert Ericsson and then pedaled out with the rest of the group. The route was short but it lead us to a community park where pie and ice cream was served and riders chatted about their bike opportunities over the past year.
