A TCA Hospitality Stay

New Lisbon, WI: 20.73 miles
Comments: Ride Time was 1 hour 39 minutes, average speed: 12.5

We traveled to New Lisbon, WI today to spend one night at our first TCA (Tandem Club of America) Hospitality Home. Marsha and Bill Peters offered their home so that we could avoid another hotel cost while we visited the Dells to scout the area for the 2012 MTR Post Ride. We had a wonderful time visiting with the Peters and also got in a bike ride around their neighborhood. This was all flat riding and in the beautiful wooded area of New Lisbon. Each home we passed was constructed in the old log cabin style and the trees had just started showing their glorious fall colors.

After our 20-mile loop, we all went to dinner at the Dirty Turtle—a fun bar and grill located on Castle Rock Lake. Back at the Peters’ cabin, we played a few rounds of Spinner Dominoes and had much fun watching Bill’s score rise higher and higher—you’re off the charts, Bill.

We also acquired another bicycle accessory: Bill and Marsha had a used Burley trailer to pull behind our tandem and offered it to us so that we could introduce our granddaughter, Kennedy, to the wonderful world of bicycling. More riding was planned for Saturday and we wanted to be ready to tackle the Wisconsin Dells area so we said our goodnights and shuffled off to the cozy room awaiting our nighttime dreams.

Our thanks go to all Hospitality Home providers—Our first stay was wonderful!
