Registration Day
Happy birthday, Dennis
Riders began showing up in McGregor, IA around 1:00 p.m. to take part in the 2010 Tri-State Ride put on by Shuttleguy Tours. Dennis and I checked in with Rick and the Shuttleguy staff at the McGregor Elementary School. We were introduced to Tanner, Rachael and Ariel who would be getting our camping gear ready for us each day. It was just beginning to drizzle as the tents were going up so we quickly arranged our luggage in our tent and then went into the school to meet some of the 50 riders that we would be biking with throughout the week. Welcome music was planned for 5-6:00 p.m. with a ride meeting following. We found supper at the Lady Luck Casino in Marquette and after lounging at the casino for a bit, we shuttled back to our tent in McGregor to rest up for Day 1 of the Tri-State Ride. The patter of raindrops on the tent as we drifted to sleep was enjoyable. We listened with hope that the wet stuff would stop come morning.
